Transfer Student How to Apply

  1. Complete an online application or download a pdf version.
  2. Attach the non-refundable $30 application fee (check or money order payable to Wayne State University) or $50 application fee for international students. Please include your Social Security number. Cash is not accepted.
  3. Send an official transcript. An official transcript is one that is sent directly from the sending college to Wayne State and is not handled by the student. It carries the seal and signature of the sending college. Send official transcripts to: Undergraduate Admissions, PO Box 02759, Detroit MI 48202-0759.
  4. Music and dance majors require auditions. See each department's site for further information.
  5. Please allow 4 to 6 weeks to process your application.

Suggested Application Dates

Undergraduate Domestic Students:
Aug. 1 - Fall semester (September - December)
Dec. 1 - Winter semester (January - April)
April 1 - Spring/summer semesters (May - August)

To be considered for resident status for tuition assessment purposes, a student must have resided in Michigan for six continuous months as of the first day of classes. For a detailed explanation of the residency requirements, refer to the residency section in the WSU Bulletin.
