Incoming Freshman students
You are considered an incoming freshman if you are one of the following:
- a current senior in high school who will enter college after graduation
- a high school graduate who has not earned credit at a community college, college or university
- a GED holder who has not earned credit at a community college, college or university
Students with International Credentials
If you are a student with credentials from outside the US, regardless of your citizenship or immigration status, please be sure to review the WSU English Proficiency Requirements in addition to admission requirements.
Newly Admitted Freshmen
As a newly admitted freshman for Fall 2008 please review the next steps for you to become a WSU student at our site for Newly Admitted Students. As a newly admitted freshman for Fall 2008, there are two very important steps you should take.

Newly Admitted Freshmen
As a newly admitted freshman for Fall 2008 please review the next steps for you to become a WSU student at our site for Newly Admitted Students. As a newly admitted freshman for Fall 2008, there are two very important steps you should take.
- All incoming freshmen will attend a New Student Orientation session during the summer. You can make your reservation for Orientation now by going to www.orientation.wayne.edu. During Orientation students will meet with academic advisors, register for classes, and obtain a WSU OneCard, just to name a few things.
- Prior to attending Orientation, students should take the required Placement/Qualifying Exams. The results from these exams will assist the advisors in planning courses for the fall semester. More information on the required exams can be found at the above Orientation website.
- All new freshmen should attend the iStart program in August. You can make your reservation now at www.istart.wayne.edu.
